Gigs This Week-- in case you care

This Friday, March 2nd I will be playing at Tommy's Seafood and Steakhouse, (11660 Westheimer Houston, TX 77077) from 8PM till midnight with the great pianist Matt Lemmler and drummer Sebastian Whittaker. Should be a lot of fun!

Studio Orchestra Week 3

This week we will be continuing to play some reggae music. I hope you have listened to some reggae this weekend and identified some of the characteristics we have discussed. You can also listen to bands like The Police and No Doubt and hear the reggae influence in those bands.

NEXT WEEK we will begin picking songs that you want to play, so start thinking. Also, remember to bring in a song for us to listen to in class for your Listening Assignment.

Studio Orchestra Week 1

So far all 3 classes have met at least once. If you are enrolled in Studio Orchestra, classes have begun, so make plans to attend! We are still missing some people in each class, ESPECIALLY MONDAY NIGHT! Except for Monday night (only 3 people showed!), we have done some jamming to get aquainted, and this week we will be playing some Blues.

Bring your guitars, basses, amps (if you want), keyboards or modules.

LISTENING ASSIGNMENT: Bring in one song for us to listen to in class. Pick something YOU LIKE! We will be listening during the first 15 minutes of each class. This assignment counts 10 points toward your final grade.

BIG REMINDER: This coming Monday (Feb. 19) is President's Day. HCC will be closed! NO STUDIO ORCHESTRA ON MONDAY!

Guitarists: Guitar, strap, cable, picks. Amp is optional.
Bassists: Bass, strap, cable, picks (if you use them).
Keyboardists: Keyboard and/or modules (optional)
Drummers: Sticks. Drums/cymbals are optional.
Singers/Rappers: Your voice!
Everyone Else: Your self!
