Studio Orchestra Will Meet Monday!

Finally, the Performing Arts Center is reopening on Monday! That's the good news. Here's the bad news: it will open at 2PM on Monday.

Here is what that means for us: Monday Morning Studio Orchestra will be reassigned to a room in the main building! Please come to the Performing Arts Center-- there will be either a sign posted or someone to direct you to where we will meet.

Monday Night Studio Orchestra will hopefully meet in our regular room. Unfortunately, I don't know where that will be yet. Please come to the lobby, and I will post a sign near the Lab Aid desk to let you know where we will be.

What to bring: Morning class (9AM), bring a pen. Instruments (guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion, or whatever else you play) are optional. I am not sure yet if we will be able to play. I will bring some instruments in case we can. We will definitely start playing on Wednesday.

Monday night class (6PM): Bring a pen. Please bring your instruments: guitars, bass, other instruments you play. Drummers bring some sticks! The school has a PA, drum set, keyboard and some amps we can use.

Tuesday Class (12:30PM): Come to the lobby of the Performing Arts Center. I will post a sign near the Lab Aid desk to let you know where we will be. Bring your instruments.

GET READY TO ROCK!!

Studio Orchestra Update Friday 9/26

Well, there is still no official word about the Performing Arts Center. Power has been restored, which is good! However, I just spoke with the secretary, and no staff or faculty has been allowed to enter the building yet. The best she could tell me is "HOPEFULLY Monday!" So I will post here by Sunday night with the latest information.

SORRY for the delay, but obviously it is due to circumstances beyond our control.

Hang in there!

If you want to contact me before classes start for any reason, email me at:

Studio Orchestra Update

It is official: Studio Orchestra (and all Second Start Classes) will begin next week. Check back here for updates.

If you have any Music Classes in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) today (Monday Sept. 22) they are cancelled. The PAC  still has no power.

Certain Audio Classes have been moved to the Main Building for today, including Audio Eng. I, Audio Eng. III, Audio Post Production, and Audio Eng. II. The room locations are posted on the PAC doors.

If you are one of my private bass students, I will try to schedule makeup lessons if  possible. It will depend on individual student's schedules and especially room availability.

I will post more information here as it becomes available.

Studio Orchestra Update

HCC has put up a temporary website for updates. You can find it here:

According to this site, Second Start Classes will now begin one week later than originally planned. So Studio Orchestra will begin on Monday, Sept. 29th (or Tuesday, Sept. 30th for the Tuesday/Thursday class).

If you miss this message and show up for class this Monday  I will probably be there to meet you, as I will be putting up flyers announcing the change.

Please check back here as I will post any information I get ASAP.

HANG IN THERE, and GET READY TO ROCK!!

Studio Orchestra Update

As you know, HCC has been closed all this week, and as a result I do not have any information about where we will meet for Studio Orchestra next week.

So here is what we'll do:
Please come to the lobby of the Fine Arts Building for your first class (Monday 9:00AM, or Monday night 6:00PM, or Tuesday 12:30PM). If I have a room assignment, I will post it on the Lab Aid Desk in the lobby. If not, we will either meet briefly in the lobby, or I will find us a temporary room for our first class.

What to bring:
Normally, I would ask you to bring your instruments (guitar, bass, etc.). For this first class, due to our unusual circumstances, just show up. Bring a pen. I'll bring a couple of guitars and a bass, and if we can play we'll use the school's drums, amps and PA.

See you then!

Studio Orchestra Starts Next Week

Hope you survived Ike and are ready to return to HCC. As of today I have had no communication from HCC. The web site is down and the phones don't work. So you will  need to check back here later in the week for details about the room assignments. Right now I have not been told where we will meet. But we will meet! Check back in a few days for info about where to come and what to bring. There will also be signs up the day classes begin in case you don't check back here.
